Yesterday night we went on a pub crawl all over Rose street. Half a pint of lager in each pub. Awesome night. Luca came down from Aberdeen, Sam came up from London and Sophie came out from her boyfriends flat... By one o'clock we were drunk as fuck, and well, lost in the middle of the city. We were the only ones out that night so it felt really good to have the streets for yourself. It's been the funnest night out in a long time.

Tengo Curro!

Que bien pagan los ingleses. Bueno, en este caso las inglesas. No soy gigolo ni nada por el estilo, no os lo conte, pero viendo lo que cuesta la vida aquí, he decideido dar clases de español a estudiantes de la universidad, y como dato al uso, son todo chicas. Básicamente puse unos cuantos carteles por la universidad (sobre todo en la facultad donde dan las clases de Español) con mi numero de móvil, mi nombre, ofertando ayuda con conversacion y ensayos. Ya he ganado £15 con 3 sesiones de menos de una hora, asi que no me puedo quejar.

Se me hace un poco extraño explicarles la diferencia entre por y para, entre a y hacia, y todas estas preposiciones extrañas que nos da por usar a los de habla latina. Hoy, por ejemplo correjí una redacción sobre Garcilaso, Fray Luis de León y poesía pastoril. Y el nivel de las alumnas es increible, hay veces que es incluso mejor que el nivel de muchas de las redacciones de bachillerato al uso.

En fin, me voy a pagar una cerveza con mi primer sueldo!

El Eclipse

Qué fácil es recordar que te dejaste en tu casa anterior cuando te cambias de casa por segunda vez. Recuerdos de tiempos pasados, un bar al final de un callejón empinado. Un botellón en el cívico un petilla. Vaya tiempos pasados. Mi primer y creo que único bar al que he sido asiduo en mi ciudad era uno pequeñito. Y se llamaba el eclipse. El eclipse. Vamos al eclipse? Cada fin de semana llevaba un cd distinto. Unas veces era AFI con Death of Seasons, otras era Queens of the Stone Age. Un monton de Marilyn manson.

De beber, Arbitro cabrón. ¿A quien no se le ha atravesado uno de esos? Entrabas al Eclipse, un bar que tuvo un sonido decente durante un par de años. Si, habia un agujero en mi ciudad para escaparse de nuestro archienemigo: PACHANGA. Sentarse con los punkos en el banco, compartir el resto del mocho que nos quedaba y echarnos unas risas, discutir movidas, charlar con vagabundos, enterarse por primera vez de que el mundo está ahi, y llega dandonos fuerte en la cara.

Ya han pasado 4 años desde que entre al eclipse por ultima vez. Cada vez que paso por esa calle veo pintadas en las paredes memorias de otro tiempo, de otro yo. Estos ultimos 4 años han sido los años mas increibles de mi vida. Ahora todo es mas lento. Acostumbrarse a la rutina, ser un punto en la cuidad. A ver si empiezo a acostumbrarme más rápido.

Reggae!

¿Por que todos los buenos artistas de los 90 están muertos? ¿Por qué se murió el cantante de sublime, para una buena banda que hay entre toda la maraña de basura que nos invade hoy en día... Llevo una semana escuchando sublime. Para los que no lo conozcáis es una banda de dub-reggae-punk-ska californiana. Lineas de bajo simples y contundentes, influencias de Bob Marley, Toots and the Maytals, Un sonido fresco y veraniego que le levanta la moral a cualquiera. Hablan de drogas, mujeres y música. Y me encantan.

No hay nada mejor que levantarse con el soniquete de What i Got!

Lavado de Cara

Que haces cuando no puedes pegar ojo? A mi me da por cambiar mi weblog, en lugar de escribir. Pero bueno, estoy bastante satisfecho con el resultado. Por cierto, mi pagina cumple todos los estandares w3 consortium, asi que si no puedes verla bien, es tu culpa. Probablemente porque estes usando internet explorer. Internet explorer es una mierda. Hazte un favor a ti mismo y descarga firefox, tu ordenador, tus amigos, tu familia, todo el mundo te lo agradecera.

Bueno, tengo una clase en 10 minutos, probabilidad y combinatoria, wohoo! Tengo tantas ganas de ir como de pegarme un tiro. Ultimamente tengo bastante trabajo, aunque esta dando sus frutos. Aprobe todas el primer trimestre, lo que me da animos para seguir tirando del carro, los bueyes y mis companyeros de piso.

Yea, well, due to overwhelming boredom and lack of excitement in my life, I haven't actually had anything to write about in the last few weeks. Yes. I am writing in english. Truth is, I have been asked to write in english, but not all my friends understand english. The solution? Write two posts every time? Or just two versions? Am I selling myself to the system by compelling with the crowd and writing in English? I doubt so.

Anyways, life is boring at the moment. Far from hectic, Edinburgh is a relaxed and quiet city that only awakens in the weekend when all the teenagers decide to go out and splurge on pints of Tennents, the local lager that makes both young and old both happy and joyful. Yes Tennent's is what somehow keeps me from going nuts. Also ganja, but lager is cheaper and more available. Tastes like piss and that's ok, cos you get drunk for very little money. Yes, very little money.

Anyways, weeks go by at an incredible pace. I just follow a standard procedure: Try to wake up, coffee, cig, shower, class, back, sleep, wake, dinner, up til 4 AM, cant sleep, watch some crap tv, sleep, wake up late for class, and repeat. Can't complain though, routine usually keeps things going fine. And Easter is coming up.
